I only removed the metal trim because I decided to give the faded paint a respray. And then I forgot about it and reinstalled the window without the trim. Not a big deal, really.
For a while I really didn't want to mess with window removal, but now that I've taken them out and in a few times it's not something I think twice about and makes certain jobs a lot easier.
