It's not recommended. There's no good way to check them for leaks, and there are things that they can rub on in the tunnel. The rubber hoses also take up more room than metal lines do, and routing them isn't as easy because they tend to bend when you push on them. Finally, rubber lines should be replaced on a fairly regular basis--possibly as often as every other year--and metal lines last decades.
Do you want to do the job twice in the next few years?
Get the Tangerine stainless lines (or equivalent). Those will probably outlast the rest of the car.
