My fun today...
My discovery of our new fresh water spring!
The same spot had been previously fixed. 1.5 years ago during a drought, we had 2 other breaks within 3' of here.
I started the hole where the water was bubbling up, but the break ended up being A couple of feet away.
The fix. A plumber advised this sort of fix for that sort of break as the "bridge" is supposed to add some flexibility for when the ground moves. We're a clay heavy area, so when things dry out, the ground shrinks and moves A LOT. He also advised to backfill with sand to surround the pipes and give them the ability to shift more than when they are encased in clay.
I have no idea what the pipe with the pink/red on it is for. There's nothing in the direction that the pipe is running.
