Hawaii, 2023 into 24
Our son joined us on Maui.
I know there's controversy about visiting there since the disaster, but 70% of Hawaiian economy is tourism.
We decided to go and it was very very good as usual.
All the locals we spoke with were welcoming and warm toward us
After a week he had to go home to LA, we transitioned to the Big Island for another week
That was mighty good too!
No big fireworks displays other than the locals gathered by the saltwater pool and put on a show we enjoyed from our lani
