Our son introduced us to a new friend from Halifax before Christmas. While telling us about her family, it turned out they had purchased the house next door to the starter home we lived in 43 years ago here in the Valley, just before our son was born .
When I worked in tourism, I met folks who worked with people I met in my travels. The best one was a fellow from Wales who, when asked where his home was, mentioned a small village west of Knighton. I asked him what was being done to the railway viaduct the previous summer. He replied the masonry was being re-pointed and that his house was right by that viaduct. I apologized for parking in his driveway.
