If the star is in the sweep of the wipers your comprehensive insurance may cover having the windshield replaced. Cost would depend on your deductible.
I learned the hard way to always have $0 deductible on comp when I ended up having to replace a windshield in our station wagon once. That $350 would have bought a lot of $0 deductible.
