1986 - I was living in NYC, had a hankering to buy a used 911 Guards Red coupe with beige interior. Test drove a privately owned one, was suspicious as it was never serviced at a dealer, passed. Visited a couple of dealers, nothing on hand. I was out on eastern Long Island, went into Mayo Motors on a sunny summer day inquiring if they had any red/beige coupes. Salesman asked "why would you want a coupe when you can enjoy
this Targa in the summer sun." D'oh!
'79 had 32K on it.
...37.5 yrs later, not a moment of regret.
