If you drive a RWD pickup truck..fill up with gas ! = Traction.
(Or toss a few sandbags in the back.)
RWD pickups are squirrelly in the snow. Despite all the government mandated everything. Especially with a computer controlling the controls. Cough.
I recently tried to divert onto a seldom-used long dirt road track at dusk.
Going around the second bend there was a small patch of branches down across the road.
Ok. Went out to move them.
And then I saw the downed wires...Not touching that.
(the only downed limbs on the road managed to knock out the only utility wires).
Had to back up a long slippery dirt road, at late dusk, on ice/snow, with no visibility behind.
No room to turn around. Tires spinning at some points. Barely enough traction at the peak of the slope.
I kept momentum up. Had to restart at the bottom a few times.
If I didn't make it back up that hill it would be next day until someone arrived.
