Thicker steering wheels tend to ask for a tighter grip, because it is thicker , you have to hold more .
Thinner wheels tend to require a softer grip, it feels more delicate . The better driver always has the softer grip on the wheel. No twich , no muscles required to speak of , save big slicks .
Thicker wheels are a fad to follow, in my opinion .
