My wife makes "chicken and rice". It's something that she grew up with. She made it years ago the way that she'd had it when she was younger, which ended up being almost more like soup. It didn't do anything for me. Then at some point, she found a new recipe. I don't know the exact recipe, but I think it's basically rice, garlic (LOTS), chicken, and home made chicken stock. I think the recipe that she found calls for onion and garlic, but I don't know if she uses any onion, but then doubles, triples or quadruples the garlic. It's not soupy, but it's also more wet than normal cooked rice. Maybe closer to a risotto or maybe a little wetter than that. It's like crack. When she makes it, I can't (and the grandkids and kids) can't get enough. I assume the key is the home made chicken stock/broth (and the prodigious amount of garlic).
