I've been using the same set of Oneida silverware for at least 30 years. When the wife (then girlfriend) moved in, a spoon would disappear every couple of months or so. Back then I was able to purchase replacements at a reasonable cost. A week or so ago a fork turned up missing. I priced them out now, eBay wants $11 - $12 a piece for replacements. OCD is a terrible thing. I redoubled my efforts to locate the missing fork, remembered my wife came home from a long shift one night and dropped a fork under the couch and just got another one. The missing fork was under the couch.


Went to visit the granddaughter this weekend for her 3rd birthday. As we were leaving Saturday night, one of the other grandpas went out to start his car, and when he came back he couldn't get in the front door. We couldn't open it from the inside either, the latch had failed. Sunday I took a look at it. Even after removing the knobs, couldn't figure out how to retract the latch, ended up pulling the hinge pins and removing the door that way. I bought a new lock, same brand, and just replaced the latch. Couldn't find just the latch at Menards. Now I have a new lock, no latch. I'm going to call the company later today and see if I can get just a latch. If not, or if it is too expensive, I'll just put the rest on FBM.

lol yeah it happens they are oxford hall. I think my parents got them as a house warming gift in 77. We only ever broke one spoon probably got bent too many times scooping ice cream. I welded it back together. They look like this
