I never park in a handicapped parking spot . I am fortunate to not need one . My MIL for several years had the blue tag due to a slight leg pain situation . I didn't consider her situation a handicap and would not park in a handicap spot when I was driving her car . The first time I did that my wife and MIL were upset . I told them both that spot is for someone with a real handicap .
I always dropped them off in front of the store/doctor or whatever location we were going to . And I would walk to the car and pick them up in front of the establishment . Over the years they would occasionally say park in the handicap spot . I reiterated you know my policy on that . I can only hope that my very small contribution helped someone that REALLY needed the spot .
