Take Matt's suggestion. For what you are planning to do, you don't need crazy tools and special jigs. Transmissions are much less complicated than engines. If you don't have to mess with the R&P, then the rest is simple. If you get into it and find that it needs more work than you can do, THEN take it to a recommended shop.
