I'm all about ergonomic. I've looked at and thought about a lot of designs and how they work with the body and the task at hand (no pun intended), and settled on the "welled" keys as what I think are about the most ergonomic option available. I also like the wide gap between the right and left hand. The style of keyboard that I'm using may not suit everyone. I think lots of folks would avoid it because it's "weird." I'm also sure that some folks might have a problem aclimating to something that different. After all, all bodies are a little different so what suits one person isn't going to suit everyone the as well or maybe at all.
Where I really went off the deep end is when I switched to the Dvorak key layout.
