When we were remodeling our house we replaced the copper with pex. We were spending quite a bit on tile flooring thru the house and didn’t want to have to take it out if there was a leak. The house is 30 years old and we did have a few friends that had some leaks in their floor. We are all setting on slab floors so jackhammers are involved.
I’m not crazy about the water lines in the attic, but it doesn’t freeze here and they are accessible if needed.
And if they last 50 years that will be great. That’s longer than I have, and we are suppose to be underwater long before then anyway.
