The airline industry has historically been the safest and most fuel efficient way to move people from point A-B.
The system has worked.
Most pilots, actually tens of thousands are now above us flying people and cargo throughout the world, are not of the 'privileged' type.
And almost every single one is exceptional. Because of existing standards.
