Iv been working wood too. Made this seat for my fat bike. The cutout with screen is for the air filter and so mice dont chew into it. Then layered up some foam. The top piece is from an old pickup truck seat cover I like using those because they are heat pleated and padded already and cheap from the junk yard. Then the sides are a stretchy vinyl makes it easier to fit the cover. It came out great probably one of the nicest seats Iv made yet.
