That's prerty normal
. But suddenly jumping by 1500-3000 even more guests is not.... and sometimes they just "hang around". It's pretty obvious when the site stops responding at 6:15 am EST and the count is suddenly 3300.
An analysis of the IP connections is called for .... or not. Just blocking Russia and China IP traffic will likely do it .... and looking to see if a bunch are from the "same IP address" would be prudent too.
