Quick story.......
When my interest went towards possibly getting a 356, I subscribed to the 356 Registry to become more informed of the model. This was back when it was list-serve, so we got emails everyday about all kinds of topics.
There was this one guy (IIRC his name was Lee) who routinely posted cars for sale, along with a couple personal observations.
Well very early this one morning he posted about one located in South Florida. His comment was something to the effect "This one looks good".
Long story short it was an eBay auction that was initiated in the early morning hours and had no bids yet. It had a BIN figure not too much higher than the starting bid. Hmmm....
And that is how I got my first 356.
No phone call or other communication with the seller. Just looked a few photos and a brief description. Then hit the BIN....before someone else got her!
Turned out to be a hell of a score.
So I'm just paying it forward here....
