Companies are offering fewer and fewer 40 cal guns. Ammo is not as plentiful and is more costly. I have found folks who shoot 10 mm are still shooting .40 from the same gun to lessen the cost and recoil.

Most folks are going to 9 mm, 45 ACP (or for the harder core folks .357 and 10mm). If you aren't needing the money and have the space for storing the gun, why not keep it? You may need it as a backup if your regular gun needs repair. God forbid there is another ammo drought like in 2020-2021, sometimes you can find a less popular brand still on the shelf when everything else is gone.

My attitude is, I haven't seen any quality brand gun go down in value so it won't hurt to keep it.
