I salvaged glass from a couple of old thermopane windows and installed them in the frames for the cold frame (pictured at the top of the previous page). Since the middle two lites hinge to the sides, I thought it best to add some mechanical fasteners around the perimeter. After bedding the glass in latex caulk, I drilled the frames for small brads then added more caulk. To seat the brads I used a large pair of channel lock pliers to gently push them into depth. Worked like a charm. I hate using a hammer around old glass.
Now I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up enough to get it set up where she wants it.
