In a ceremony held on March 13, 1931 at Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve, Phillips Petroleum Company founder Frank Phillips was adopted as an honorary member of the Osage Nation. Given the name Hulah Kihe-kah (Osage for "Eagle Chief"), Phillips was the only white man to ever receive the honor of being inducted into the tribe, and would go on to describe these proceedings as one of his proudest moments. 1945, the K-25 Gaseous Diffusion Plant began uranium production in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. It was the largest building in the world when it opened, and enriched U-235 for much of the Cold War.
