Funny, though, I don't recall this happening at Washington gun shops. Maybe it has and I've just missed it. Certainly not common, though. But, never fear - our illustrious legislature passed, and our Governor signed, new security requirements for gun shops. Going forward they will have to be, essentially, as secure as bank vaults. Heavy steel industrial grade doors, bars over windows, security cameras on 24/7/365, in the shop enhanced storage requirements, and on and on. Not that any of this is necessarily a bad idea. But, well, they chose to implement this on businesses that essentially do not get broken into nor robbed, while ignoring those that do at a rate of several times per day. Gotta wonder what their true motivations might be.
Regionally gun stores have definitely been targeted a few times in the not-so-distant past.
