Hey Shaun, I've never ridden a SS. But have ridden a 996/998. You can definitely tell they are related. I imagine it would feel very similar to a SS, especially power wise. Mine is the Paul Smart so it has the ohlins suspension which is better then the suspension on the the Sport 1000. The brakes on all the sports classics are ok, they were a compromise in order to fit the spoke wheels.
But the best way to find out is to come on back to the west coast with yours and we can ride.
