I do think the news coverage of this was out of control, especially after she asked for private time to heal and take care of her family. The first 20 minutes of CNN's 4:00 PM news was about this. I kept switching to YouTube and coming back. After 20 minutes there was something about a fire, then back to talking about the video of Kate asking to be left alone.  |
I feel sorry for her, and all of her family. But this "news story" is way overblown in the media. It is in every newspaper, and TV news show. Many thousands of people all over the world get the same devastating news every single day. And to me, she is just another "royal" that does not warrant any press. I can't care less about "news" of any of the royal family of Great Briton, or any other royal family or celerity.
Fortunately I record all the the programs and I can fast forward through coverage of royals, celebrities or sports figures. And I can scroll past the news stories in my local newspaper that I read on my computer. The news media is in a sorry state of celebrity worship. Not me.
