Picked up another 1st Gen Interceptor. This time it's an '84. The first two I bought were '83's.

This one started out for sale in Holly Hill (Daytona) and after a week the seller dropped the price so I made arrangements to meet him to see and possible purchase it on a Monday. Got a message from him on Sunday he had sold it. We didn't have any agreement on him holding it for me so no foul-no harm.

Couple weeks go by and the bike re-appears but now the fairings have all been re-painted White.

I contacted the seller and he said the paint job wasn't very good so he decided to repaint it...but when he put a fuel tank on it from a donor bike (a VF1000R) it didn't fit, so he decided to let it go.

It didn't have a fuel tank when it was first listed. The buyer thought his would fit. Which is why he bought it.

Anywhoo......I DO have a spare fuel tank that would fit, so no worries there. Only now the fairings have all been re-painted White, so at some point I will pick up where he left off and finish the paint job to match a factory version, since I'm a bit of a purist in that regard.

Supposedly it ran when a fuel bottle was hooked up. But for me, it's not running very well so I'm going to do a carb service and then she should be right. I'm also feeling a little resistance when I roll her so will look at the brake calipers as well. I've already replaced the battery and have it up on my lift table. Parts should arrive tomorrow so stay tuned.....no pun intended....

Photos from the original listing.....

Note the twin Kerker exhaust!

These are the re-painted fairings. The guy I bought it from paints for a living so did a nice job on them. I also got a fuel cap with matching key to the ignition and the tool kit.

It also has a Competition Werkes fender eliminator......
