Owned an elise and exige s for a total of 12 years. Toyota powertrain and some parts bin bits.

Fantastic to drive cars, still a lot more interaction from the owner than a modern porsche to keep in tip top shape. Little things like Alarm, Hvac, plastic bits breaking, electrical gremlins are still very real for the brand.

Depends on the owner, I would own one in a second, but won't be a hands off experience probably.

I chose a 718 over an evora, even though i much more enthusiastic for modern lotus over modern porsche, mostly because my intention is to put a ton of miles on it and use more like a car than a toy. Cayman variants are fantastic cars, lotus makes more sense to me when there are no comparable cars like with the elise/exige.
