I have the rear side glass out on my 1988 3.2 Carrera Coupe and have a couple of questions.
Firstly underneath the lower aluminium trim that sits on the bodywork below the window (not the trim the sits in the rubber seal) I found some plastic washers. As far as I can tell these are only specified for fitment up to '77. My Porsche PET shows only the sealing tape underneath this trim. Now I know this window has been out in my ownership, but not by me.
Has anybody else done this job on a late Carrera - and can comment on whether they had these washers in place? I'd like to know what is 'correct' before I refit the window.
Secondly the glass itself had a layer of crusty hard grey sealant around its periphery. Should there be anything applied before I refit the window? I have the front door frames out as well and have replaced the butyl sealant bead around the front vent glass - should I do something similar on the rear glass? (My instinct says yes, but I'm wondering what was the factory approach here.)
Thanks
