I was just looking at the plate on my 1989 that needs to be restored, or replaced, anyway.

I'm interested. Curious as to your thoughts on how it'll hold up to regular use. Obviously, metal will bend where this will break, but how big of an impact will cause structural damage?

Also, did you consider metal inserts for the hardware mounting points? That may be cost prohibitive and perhaps the CF will be ok in compression under the bolt & washer?
