Well, I only paid about 2x that for mine, so it wasn't too shocking to find substantial rust that apparently is compromising the structural integrity.
Even though mine may have excessive wobblitude, I recall enough of my material properties and structures classes to know that even a good Targa will flex some.
I took a 6" piece of tape and taped the roof with the car supported by the torsion tube:
And then jacked up the engine, and squished the loose tape together:
And the result is about 0.3" movement. I'm wondering how far off typical this is and where I can use this test to validate that replacing the rockers and floorboard adequately addressed the issue?
