Is a head stud check necessary on a 1985 911 Carrera?

The PPI garage I booked messed up the appointment for my PO. So it will have to be rescheduled. And he flatly told the PO it wasn't necessary & was considered 'intrusive' and any ramifications (leaks etc) were the PO's responsibility which made him really uneasy.

I know, I know - switch garages - but I'm doing this from 1500 miles away so I don't have a lot of choices. I could use the PO's garage which is a Porsche dealership & has known the car for 16 years. A risk but an option. Car lives in Houston.

Any opinions?
