I just installed a new/old Porsche radio in my 85 and went thru the whole thing. The radio needs 2 powers supplies, 1 that is always on (so the time stays the same etc.) and 1 that tells the radio to actually turn on, this will also make the radio tell the antenna to go up and turn on the amp if you have one.
It's easy to figure out what works and what doesn't when the car is on or off. I actually didn't want to cut and splice any wires, so I ran 2 power wires to the frunk and wired it directly into the fuse box so I could just screw them into it.
Do you have the center console fader, because that is beyond anybody to figure out once disconnected.
