Hard pass on the OP barndominium (or at least that's what they are called here). However, that is located in/near the Finger Lakes region of NY. Very nice area so yes to that.
FYI: that is not
Upstate. Not everything north or west of NYC is "upstate". This particular area is the Finger Lakes area. Rochester/Buffalo is in Western NY. Syracuse and parts north are "Northern NY".
I had three great years living in Watertown NY, about 70 miles north of Syracuse just off the banks of Lake Ontario. Only 20 miles down I81 from the Canadian border. Absolutely loved it!
