I have to assume that white or "silver/metal" colored would be the best and would be different than any other color. I'd have to see scientific proof that those colors didn't make a difference. I have to assume, especially in hot, sunny climates that heat absorption must have an environmental impact on the home (likely HVAC), and eventually could have an impact on the roof material.
