For me it was bright enough to overcome the city glows at times down to the treeline.
I never considered that I'd be looking towards the southern horizons at the northern lights from here in south carolina.
It faded around 11PM EST and I didn't see it anymore in the night.
Pictures did not do it justice.
The pink or reddish glow in many pictures were just a part of it.
Beams like little kids running around with flashlights on a foggy night, flows like waterjets into sand, trailing flame like bits.
Often there'd be a center point in the sky that the action would all point from.
One of the final displays was a bright beam going down as far as I could see into the south.
