Pet peeve is a thing that irritates you. Vent is a verb when you complain about something that irritates you (peeve or anything else)

Exactly what my brain pictured when I read the thread title before I clicked. There were enough posts that I was 99.5% sure that someone was going to have beaten be to it.

It sucks when you think of something funny, smart, interesting, but someone has beaten you to it. (there how's that for a vent)

I did the same, but then realized after the fact that I should have stuck with regular vents since I had a hip roof with a very short ridge on top.
