I also have a 2022 RC350 that I purchased as the intended replacement for the ES 300 (photo below from day I purchased it).
My wife refuses to give up her ES300 for this one and continues to use it for her trip to the beauty salon and doctor appointments...and we park it at the airport when we fly. It costs almost nothing to keep other than a place to park it, so I indulge her.
The RC is similar in many ways to the ES mechanically...but smaller and has a sporty, rice boy racer type styling (plus modern electronics). You can get it in AWD for the snow. It is quite capable and has served me very well for my shorter trips (4-8) hours so far. I have not driven it across country yet, but expect to do so soon.
On the other hand, my 2004 Cayenne TT has made it cross country about twice a year (and an additional 4-8 hour trip at least once or twice a month) since I bought it and is still great for long trips with well over 200K miles on the Odo. I can also pack a bunch of stuff in the back or tow a pretty heavy trailer. See Cayenne below (with attached Trailex). The 2001 ES300 is in background.
There are lots of good choices.

I see you like silver! Your wife's ES300 is why I would want Lexus given our experience with the Mercedes. And the RC looks sharp but not her style. i am sure we'll be at a dealership by the end of June.
What goes on the trailer?
