I owned one of these:
The story goes like this: someone alerted me as I had a '50TD that there was a wrecked SA up at USC that was selling cheap. I got a trailer and headed up to meet one Gayle Bensusan, ostensibly a foreign student with a lot of money.
Being a RHD with a turning radius of a Peterbilt, he cut a corner, caught the rear wheel on something like a fire hydrant and ripped the rear axle around about to 30º from straight. The front wing and running board were bent up against the doors. It could have been a total but I had to have it.
This is what it looked like 2 years later.
