If I were going for that vibe, I’d likely get a “heritage” watch that would be period correct like the Monaco or Monza from Tag, or their Carrera on a rally strap. If you’re looking to just match the vibe, German watches like the Glycine, Sinn, and IWC would suit the style. A Rolex Submariner or Omega Speedmaster would fit as likely candidates for what owners were wearing then.
My most out-of-the-box suggestion? Bulova. Accutron or Computron both scream 1970s and you can find vintage models cheap.
