This was a car I found on SHOforum many years ago, and I was going for a similar look. I wanted to lower the car just a tad and go up on the wheel and tire size a little also. The original wheels are 16 inches, and there is quite the gap between the tire and fender.
Here is a picture of the wheels I wanted to put on the car back then. They are black but have a chrome lip. I figured the chrome would break up the black a little and tie in the stainless exhaust tips. Last but not least, here is a side view picture of my SHO.
