I will grant you that Dixon is well respected for clean racing but again, that doesn't mean he shouldn't have been penalized. Anyone else would have gotten a drive through penalty but Dixon is the fair haired boy of Indy so they looked the other way.
By the way, notice how Newgarden cut across the front of Pado in the middle of turn 3. That took all the air off his front wings and he had to back off to keep it off the wall. At that point there wasn't enough time to build back momentum it was game over at that point. The move is legal but not considered respectable. I think that he won't get a lot of backlash for it since it was the final 2 corner at the Indy 500.

Like that didn’t happen many other times at during the race. Yea, it was a race where the goal is to get ahead of everybody else.
