People have come close to duplicating the formula and it's just a matter of time. Here is an expired patent granted in 1963:
1. A RUST REMOVING COMPOSITION CONSISTING ESSENTIALLY OF AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF FERMENTATION-INHIBITED SISAL JUICE SOLIDS AND N.N''-DI-(O-HYDROXY BENZYL)-ETHYLENE DIAMINE DIACETIC ACID IN A RATIO OF 1/2 -20 PARTS OF THE AMINO ACID PER 100 PARTS OF SISAL JUICE SOLIDS.
From what I've read that is close, especially the "juice" part. Beets have been mentioned many times.

There are other methods less costly but some require more effort.....so like many things it's all about how much you value your time.
I've used apple cider vinegar and white vinegar before but they don't do the job this ER does.
Also, the tanks I'm doing are quite valuable on the used parts market - especially with little or no dents.
So what tanks I don't use I can re-sell and will just add in the ER cost.
I still have two more second gen bikes to restore plus another one I might replace it's tank with one of these.
