My starter came off the 915 bell housing with no trouble, and was functional when it was in.
However if I didn't know I was putting something back exactly where it was removed from, I'd swear this is the wrong part. As you can see, it's not really close, and it will not draw in by tightening the nuts on the threads. The pressure plate/clutch assy were not removed so I don't expect alignment to be the issue.
The starter was removed to be able to separate the engine from the transaxle for cleaning and inspection of both, and some engine changes & tests. For anyone wondering about that stud, the other end is in a Renegade Hybrids transaxle adapter.
Has anyone experienced similar? Any ideas?
