I try to avoid driving my clean cars in the rain. We have had .60 inches of rain so far today and 1.36 so far this month. I have driven in heavy frog strangler rain, Fog, sleet, snow, light hail and light mist in my 911. If came from the factory with windshield wipers, windshield squirters, and even headlight washers, fantastic heat, and pitiful AC that I upgraded to kick butt fantastic AC.

On one trip through northern Colorado and Utah there was a light mist, just enough to get the road wet. With hundreds of dirt roads that connected to the highway, the road was covered in mud and the mist just turned my white car brown. I used up a full gallon of windshield washer and headlight washer fluid. They share the same huge tank. I stopped to gas and bought a gallon of washer fluid, and poured it all in.

It all washed off. My fender wells are covered in dirt, but is a driven road car, not a garage queen.

Last year going to Palm Springs we hit one short period of very light rain. On every other of the 20 trips to Porsche parade I have hit at least a few hours of heavy rain, except the 2004 trip to Ft. Worth. No rain the entire time. No doubt we will hit rain again for the trip to Birmingham.
