Having fun here. I started collecting the "stuff" needed for the tip into various bags for packing. I figured I would swap positions of the El Camino and the 911 to get the 911 in the work bay. I went to hit the key, and nothing. I checked the battery and it was low, so I charged it a bit, and got it to start. The voltage meter shows 8 volts. Crap, another bad alternator. It had been on there since 2011 so not that old.
The good news is it is a 15 minute process to take off. The replacement is free, as it has a lifetime warranty.
The bad news the local store does not have it in stock, so it has to be brought from the warehouse and it will not get there until 4:30. It is a 20 minute job to put it back on and there are bolts that need to align just right and always some fiddling needed. So I will go fetch it later today, and install in in the morning when it is cool.
The stupid thing is the dang thing uses three different sizes on sockets.
