I took this pic a month ago in my buddy's shop. This is a slab he milled up from a big Sugar Pine he dropped 2 years ago. Actually the biggest Sugar ever recorded -16' at the butt. He's making tables and selling slabs. It's boring too except for the trees history. He has a pic of John Muir sitting at the base. Unfortunately the giant succumbed to to those horrible pine beetles a few years ago. I can get you a big slab for fraction of what they want for that on line white oak. Not sure what the the freight bill would be though
