One other possibility:
We had powerful cars and light cars.
but they didn't have traction control, anti-lock brakes,
sophisticated independent suspension.
We had drum brakes and live axles and more body roll
than today's kinds can imagine and we still kept it out of the ditch.
Maybe these nanny cars have spoiled drivers to the point
where they don't know how to control a car at or over the limit
because they haven't needed to?
