When I remodeled my kitchen I dropped the crown down 4". I made a jig and cut dozens of triangle nailing blocks notched out at the wall seven sixteenths to squeeze in ½" LED rope lighting. The blocks are screwed to the studs. It illuminates the entire kitchen gently. LEDs last forever and use so little power I leave this string on 24/7 even though I switched it. My under counter LEDs are dimmable. I threw all the Halogen puck lights away. LEDs are superior in so many ways
