+1. Can’t stand that guy. I like Hinch a lot and can tolerate Townsend Bell. Diffey makes me projectile vomit. NASCAR on Fox has Mike Joy. Wonder if he’ll get the nod. He’s actually pretty decent.

I think the move to Fox will really help Indycar. That plus Kyle Larson doing well in the 500 may really attract crossover from NASCAR. Plus, I’ve never been crazy about how NBC covered races. The directors seemed to always cut away at just the wrong time, as if they had no idea what they were watching.

Here are my suggestions of how to improve Indycar:
1. Assign color schemes to the cars that remain stable throughout the season, like F1. The only team that does this is McLaren, sort of. Indycars are wrapped in the sponsor of the week’s colors, and that this is likely a function of the lack of season-long sponsors, but it makes it hard to tell which team we are watching, much less who is in which car. For years, you knew it was Kyle Busch in the M&Ms car.
2. Figure out a better schedule. Indycar starts in March, and then there is a giant gap of up to four weeks before the next race. A real momentum killer.
3. More ovals! Ovals are like licorice—not everyone likes them, but those who do really like them a lot. And adding more ovals might attract more NASCAR crossover.
4. Wimmen! We need more wimmen in racing! They do great in professional drag racing, and there’s no reason not to have more of them in Indycar.

And finally: Dixon is the greatest ever, but Palou is currently the best. Fight me.
