I have never found a thin quick release that works decently. The thinest NRG is terrible, very difficult to release or engage even with two hands. They make other models that take about 2.5" space, and still allow the horn to operate, but they aren't the best units, still somewhat inconsistent in engagement. They also allow about 1/4" of forward/backward play in the wheel. The play is under a spring load, but it is still somewhat unsettling when driving hard and the wheel moves on you.
